To get in touch with the Royal Bank of Scotland head office, phone the number above to go through their switchboard. It will advise you of the current wait time so you know how long you have to stay on hold if the lines are busy. You will then have four lines to choose between to proceed to a person who can help you with a relevant query. Customers with complaints should press 3 and ask to raise the issue with the head office. Here are the numbered choices you will be given when you call RBS:
- Balances, statements, payments, or general banking enquiries.
- Existing customers wanting to discuss a loan, overdraft, or product application.
- Existing customers who know their customer number and PIN needing customer support.
- New customers or customers who aren’t registered for online or telephone banking (limited).

36 St Andrew Square
The historic RBS head office building is located off St Andrew’s Square in Old Town, Edinburgh. This means that it is easy to get there, with multiple train services calling at Edinburgh Waverley station just a 5-minute walk away. Almost two dozen bus routes call at various stops in the immediate area. They are all no more than a few minutes from RBs head office on foot. As it is a busy city area, public transport is a better option. However, if you prefer to drive, you can park at Waverley Station for free for up to 40 minutes, or pay £7.50 for up to 3 hours. The OMNI Q-Park is a little closer at ten minutes away, starting at £2.50 an hour or £6 for up to 2 hours.
