The Tax Credits Office is a part of HM Revenue & Customs. Contact the office by calling this number to connect to their answering service. It will ask you to state in a few words why you are calling. You can say things like “make a new claim for Tax Credits” or “change in circumstances” to report them. If you hold the line, you will have the option of choosing a HMRC department from this numbered list:
- Press 1 for Tax Credit Payments.
- Press 2 for Changes in Circumstances.
- Press 3 for New Tax Credit Claims.
- Press 4 for Tax Credit Renewals.
- Press 5 for something else.
Please have your National Insurance number and other identity details to hand for security reasons.

The head office for Tax Credits is the head office for HM Revenue & Customs, or HMRC. It is next to Westminster underground station, making it easy for commuters to get there on the Circle, District, or Jubilee line. There are lots of buses which call at the nearby Parliament Square bus stops. These include the 3, 11, 12, 53, 87, 88, 159 and 453 bus routes. From the east side of the river, the office is just off Westminster Bridge. Drivers can also get there via the A3214 or A3212. It costs £7.50 an hour to park at Q-Park Westminster a 7-minute walk away.
